"The demise of the jaguar has been classic, a typical example of the inevitable conflict that arises once land is cleared for ranching. The predator begins to prey on domestic livestock and is then persecuted, its habitat destroyed and its natuaral prey diminished. We can only hope that good breeding stock can be found so that the jaguar may be reintroduced into parts of its original range and so that this fabulous creature can survive." - Donald Grant.
