I Call Him Friend by Paul Calle
I Call Him Friend by Paul Calle
"I have always been intrigued by the story of the golden eagle given to George Catlin by Kenneth McKenzie at Fort Union in the spring of 1832. The eagle was so tame that it stayed with him for the entire journey to St.Louis. I envisioned a scene of a free trapper who raised a fledgling eagle to maturity. At an encampment, a group of mountian men asked him what name he called the bird. 'I call him friend' was the simple reply." - P. Calle
