The Gardeners by Heide Presse
The Gardeners by Heide Presse.
These little girls had been playing dress up—that accounts for their oversized petticoats—until they remembered their promise to water the neighbor’s garden. Now, swinging along their watering cans, slapping their bare feet against the warm pavement (socks and shoes forgotten but not missed), they’re happily on their way. They make such an appealing sight that even a passing cat has halted in its tracks to consider joining the parade! From the sweet-scented hydrangea tumbling over the picket fence, to the sidewalk splashed with sunlight, Heide’s image is wonderfully inviting.
Prints released 1999. One has a Remarque.
